Last night the Armada Boys Varsity team opened the season with a home game against the St. Clair Saints. A hard fought battle, the Tigers were 8 points down to start the 4th quarter, but used their defense to get themselves back into the game and make a run late, to get a 52 to 49 victory to start the year. Seniors Cole Mahaffey and Nathan Schapman both had 2 points, Senior Wyatt Waskin had 4 points, Junior Riley Andrews had 6 points, Junior Justin Schapman with 7, Junior Dougie Noonkester had 8 points in his Armada basketball debut, and Junior Preston Hill scored a huge 23 points with 5 made 3s to lead the team to the win. The team plays Thursday at Lake Shore high school.
