JV Girls Basketball falls just short in New Haven. The team played on Friday and Saturday in the New Haven Rocket Holiday Classic. On Friday they took on Pontiac. Armada was up 10-4 at half time. Pontiac fought back and went up 19-14 with less than 1:30 left. Armada stole the next 3 inbound plays and went up by 1 with :15 left. Pontiac didn't score and and Armada got the 20-19 win and moved on. Kalie Kopytek led the scoring with 9 while Kyra Sutton and Mady Ruczynski each had 4. Lillie Chojnacki had 2.

On Saturday, the girls played Marine City for the tournament championship. After the first half, Armada was down 21-10. After the half, the team came out playing a lot more aggressive and Marine City only scored 5 points in the second half. Unfortunately Armada struggled scoring and ended up losing a tough game 26-21. Kalie Kopytek led the team with 7 while Mady Ruczynski had 6 and Kyra Sutton had 4. Alex Childers and Autumn Chambers each had 2. This brings the team to a 4-2 record with their next game Thursday at Yale.
