The track and field teams competed at the BWAC Championship last night. Medalists included: Kyle Coenen and Andrew Sniesak in the 200 meter dash; Connor Mackenzie in the 400 meter dash; Alec Albrecht and Mackenzie in the 800 meter run; Camden Khon in the 1600 meter run; Courtney Barr in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles; the 4x100 meter relay of Abby Petz, Marti Obry, Jaclyn Golaszewski, and Barr; the 4x200 meter relays of Mikayla Nowik, Emma Gillies, Brooke Niebauer, and Golaszewski and Sniesak, Mackenzie, Albrecht, and Coenen; the 4x400 meter relay of Ava Baltierra, Gillies, Nowik, and Niebauer; the 4x800 meter relays of Madison Feys, Ava Zobay, Mackenzie Meerschaert, and Aubree Naniewicz and Riley Andrews, Luke Nawrocki, Jack Zagaiski, and Khon; and Jacob Brown in the discus throw. The highlight of the event was Coenen’s 300 meter hurdles where he got tripped up on two of the hurdles, somersaulted his landing on both and finished second in the league, despite the falls. Congratulations to all of the medalists. The teams resume action at the regional on Friday at Marysville.
