CROSWELL-LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL: 33
The Armada Girls JV Basketball team competed hard Wednesday evening to capture a 36-33 win at Croswell Lexington.
After falling behind 10-4 in the first quarter, the Tigers came out attacking on defense to begin the second quarter and quickly closed the gap to 10-9 before going into halftime trailing 15-13. The Pioneers held a 27-24 lead after three quarters but the Tigers would not be denied, led by their smothering defense, taking the lead late in the fourth quarter and holding on for the win.
Alayna Nowik led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points and Ella Sutton added 11 points. Solid team defense and a "never say die" attitude were the keys to this team victory. The ladies return home this Friday evening to take on Imlay City.
