The boys and girls track teams competed in the 16-team Friday Night Under the Lights Meet at Algonac finishing 6th and 8th. Leading the way among all competitors were Jacob Brown and Connor Mackenzie who finished 1st in the discus and 800 meter run, respectively. Mackenzie joined Alec Albrecht, Camden Khon, and Andrew Sniesak on the gold medal winning 4x800 relay and later raced with Albrecht, Sniesak, and Kyle Coenen to cap the night with a 3rd place in the 4x400. Albrecht added a medal with his 3rd place finish in the 800 meter run. Coenen added a 4th place medal in the 300 hurdles; Sniesak finished 4th in the 400, and Khon took a 4th place medal in the 3200 run. For the girls, the 4x100 meter relay of Courtney Barr, Jaclyn Golaszewski, Marti Obry, and Abby Petz took 4th. Ava Baltierra added a 6th in the 800 meter run. The 4x200 meter relay of Mikayla Nowik, Brooke Niebauer, Emma Gillies, and Marti Obry finished 5th. The final medal was claimed by Niebauer, Gillies, Baltierra and Nowik with a 4th place 4x400 meter relay. Congratulations to the teams and medalists.
